About Fixing Stillwater Schools

The recent line of Stillwater Area Public Schools (ISD No. 834) Board of Education decisions, culminating in the Board Policy Series 600 revisions of December 2022-January 2023, which reduced parental & community involvement, transparency, and strayed from objectivity and the academic purpose, drove the formation of FSS.

We strive to vigilante regarding the Board--reporting to the community--providing alerts and other subscription options. Education Standards of America (ESA) assists us as a facilitator of our leadership of the reform movement.
The problems we address and attempt to amend are often not unique to Stillwater, but ongoing systemic issues in Minnesota. Our Gender Ideology Report dissects the Minnesota Department of Education gender program, as it was implemented in Stillwater; this provides a useful template for understanding this program, generally, as may be relevant to the version of it throughout the state.
Fixing Stillwater Schools (FSS) is:
- Pressing to bring school advisory committees out of the shadows.
- Shining light on secretive processes that put inappropriate instructional materials in the hands of our children.
- Working to tell parents about off-calendar, unannounced school programs that inculcate far left progressive dogma in unsuspecting young minds and hearts.
- Preparing for possibly expensive actions to enforce data requests lying dormant and to defend objective facts presented to the community from false attacks.
Please support our efforts by pitching in (click for a volunteer interest form--there are many ways to help) or by your donation of any amount. It will help us stand toe-to-toe with the forces arrayed against us and our children’s future.
Mission
Achieve transparency in all aspects of what children are taught at District 834, inside and outside the classrooms so that educational quality can be evaluated.
Vision Statement
Excellent academic education is essential for all children.
Children must gain competence in reading, writing, science, math, history and civics, to prepare them to be independent, contributing members of society. Excellent academic education is founded on scientific methodology and genuine critical thinking.
We oppose the diversion of academic resources to promote a world view contrary to that held by the students’ parents and religious communities.
Strategy
We expose the curriculum that does not support this mission and vision.
We educate the community and parents regarding what is actually being taught in our schools so they can make informed decisions about their child’s education.
We engage the community and parents to become a part of the solution; advocating for the children, improving education excellence for every child’s success rather than corrupting their values and imbuing them with a victim/victimizer world view.
